Patio and Driveway Reseal in Stretford

Driveway and Patio Brought Back to Life after a Patio and Driveway Reseal in Stretford

During the winter months, the damp weather can take its toll on a pattern imprinted concrete driveway. Mold, green and black algae and lichen love damp, moist conditions and so will often appear on a driveway surface. Regular cleaning is an important part of maintaining your pattern imprinted concrete driveway and power washing it is a good way to do this. In addition, you should have your driveway resealed every 3-5 years in order to ensure that the decorative colour and pattern continues to have a quality finish.

It is the sealant on the driveway that is susceptible to wear and tear. Just like a solid oak wood floor must be resealed and maintained to keep it looking good for longer, the same applies to a concrete driveway. If it is not resealed it can become more susceptible to scratches and damage. While it might still last as long, it won’t look good for as long.

Driveway Resealing and Maintenance was recently asked to complete a driveway reseal in Stretford along with the patio. We had originally installed the driveway and patio, but it was now time for a reseal. Before we could carry out the driveway reseal in Stretford, we had to ensure that the surface was completely clean and free from grease, mud and anything else that might coat it.

As you can see from some of the photographs included, we jet washed off the algae and ground in dirt. We used a mild acid wash to do this. We then repaired some minor blemishes and then once this was complete, we sealed with 2 coats of acrylic sealant. The sealant has added into it anti-skid for extra grip. While the sealant creates a lovely, glossy appearance, the anti-skid means it is not slippery to walk on.

This terracotta-coloured driveway was originally installed in 2008, however after the driveway reseal in Stretford, it looks like it could have been installed yesterday, it looks brand new. As well as looking great, from a practical perspective, the seal also protects the driveway against salt and other wear and tear, so it is important that the pattern imprinted concrete is resealed regularly, whether that’s on a driveway, patio or both.

Do you have a pattern imprinted concrete driveway or patio that is looking past its best?
